Non-Binary Surgeries

Our team has had the honor of caring for thousands of transmasculine and non-binary patients and we know how important it is to feel seen, heard, and informed along the way. Below, you’ll find brief overviews of the three surgeries offered in this category, along with links to their surgery-specific resources pages.

Chest Masculinization

Chest masculinization removes breast tissue and reshapes the chest to appear more flat and traditionally masculine. Techniques depend on body type and may include repositioning or resizing nipples. The result supports physical comfort and gender congruence.
General Recovery Time:
4-6 weeks, with most able to return to work by then.
Main Benefit:
Creates a flatter, more traditionally masculine chest shape.
Good to Know:
Often completed as an outpatient procedure.

Genital Masculinizing

This category includes metoidioplasty or phalloplasty and may involve urethral lengthening, vaginectomy, scrotoplasty, and testicular implants. Each procedure is selected and sequenced based on your needs, with outcomes tailored for form and function.
General Recovery Time:
8-12 weeks, with time varying by surgical plan.
Main Benefit:
Creates external masculine genital anatomy.
Good to Know:
May require multiple surgical stages.

Body Contouring

Body contouring reshapes areas like the waist, hips, torso, or thighs using liposuction or fat grafting. It enhances gender congruence by refining body proportions and can be performed on its own or alongside other gender-affirming procedures within our Transmasculine or Transfeminine categories.
General Recovery Time:
2-4 weeks, with bruising usually fading fast.
Main Benefit:
Refines your body shape to match your identity.
Good to Know:
Can be done at the same time as other procedures.
